Yard Test 001: Detecting and Tracking a Cat at Night

Yard Test 001: Detecting and Tracking a Cat at Night

Direct result: During a real-yard visit at 11:47 p.m. on June 22, 2026, the AISEKAR prototype detected a cat in the night view and adjusted the camera direction as the cat moved. This single event demonstrates nighttime detection and visual tracking in the recorded scene; it does not establish deterrence or general recognition accuracy.

Test date June 22, 2026
Time 11:47 p.m.
Environment Real test yard at night, including darker areas of the yard
Target One cat
Test focus Nighttime detection and camera tracking
Evidence status Single recorded field event; not a controlled accuracy study

Test question

Could the current AISEKAR prototype detect a small animal and keep it in view as it moved through a yard at night?

Original test footage

Unedited nighttime test footage recorded on June 22, 2026. This June prototype's video clarity was still being optimized.

What we observed

The cat first crossed the patio and then moved through darker areas of the yard. AISEKAR detected it in the night view and adjusted the camera direction as it moved. When the cat appeared again near the left edge of the yard, the system continued following it.

What this test demonstrates

  • The prototype detected one cat in the recorded nighttime yard scene.
  • The camera direction changed while the cat moved through the visible area.
  • The original footage preserves the conditions and outcome for review.

What this test does not demonstrate

This event does not test deterrence, recognition across multiple species, false-positive rate, repeatability, adverse weather, maximum tracking distance, or long-term reliability. A single successful event cannot be used as a general accuracy percentage.

Next test

We will repeat this test with different animals, distances, lighting, and weather, and publish both successful and unsuccessful results in the numbered Yard Test series.
